I believe in keeping pay fair and competitive. I believe this attracts and keeps the most talent within an organization. Within Riverside County, there are many school districts. I am including a table of the salary schedules from 10 districts that are all near Menifee.

As you can see from the numbers, Menifee is dead last in salary for their teachers. Why? Is it because they are an elementary school district? No. There are several elementary districts on the list that are higher than them. However, districts with high schools receive more funding from the state than elementary districts. Unification (the addition of Menifee High Schools) would certainly bring more money to Menifee schools.

Is pay lower in Menifee because the cost of living is less here? I would argue that while the cost of living is higher in a few of these areas, Menifee's cost of living is higher than the majority of the list.

Are salaries lower in Menifee because we are "always growing?" Talk to any of the districts on this list and they will tell you about their massive growth over the two decades.

If I get elected to the Menifee School Board, I will find the answer to this question. I want to make Menifee pay competitive so that we attract and keep the best teachers who feel that they are adequately compensated for their work.
